I want to meet your specific needs whether you require photographs for editorial and commercial purposes or are looking for portraits of your family.
The general rule for photo licenses is for one time usage for a period of one year, unless otherwise expressed in writing.
One misconception about photography is that digital is cheaper than film. While it may be true that film costs no longer are a factor in most situations, there are additional expenses. Digital cameras, computers and software are costly and need to be upgraded regularly to keep pace with technology. The time required to process and edit images is also more demanding.
You need good value for your money and for that reason I don't recommend you hire a photographer based solely on price. Different photographers have different production levels, experience, ability and style. My overhead may be lower than another photographer resulting in a lower price or it may be higher due to my experience and ability. To best meet your specific needs I would recommend you base your selection 60 per cent on the photographer's style, 25 per cent on experience and 15 percent on the actual price.
As a general rule, I do not offer copyright transfers of images. The cost for you to purchase an outright copyright transfer can be very expensive. By accommodating your needs for usage I can help meet your goals for photography, as well as helping you control your expenditures.
The rates I provide for estimates are are subject to usage, photographic production and expenses. All expenses including mileage, props, models and permits (if needed) will be billed back to the client so spending time going through the details of your needs will result in a more accurate estimate.
In order to do so, I need to ensure I have all the information needed to provide you with an accurate quote. Please contact us at 780-897-6478 or email me at randy(at)randyvanderveen(dot)com.
Randy Vanderveen photography makes its best effort to protect and archive its images but does not offer any guarantees.
